Happy 2025
Happy New Year! Normally I like to celebrate New Year’s Day with a nature hike or walk, but this year I had a cold, so I just relaxed at home. It did give me time to think on the year ahead, crochet, and immerse myself in a lot of Spanish language films and television shows for my Spanish language learning (and enjoyment, of course). I also bought a premium Duolingo subscription for language lessons, as a gift to myself.
I’ve started a new blanket for 2025, with a bright and festive row with colorful popcorns to celebrate the new year, a white row for a fresh new year and with a yellow heart for one of my sister’s birthdays for the 2nd, a lavender row to signify a chilly day with my flowers and with a red heart in memory of my dear friend and brother-in-law’s passing on the 3rd day of January in 2020, and another row of lavender for today.
Other than that, I’ve been enjoying my indoor hydroponic gardens that have been flourishing with fresh mint, surprisingly delicious shishito peppers that I’ve been eating off the vine, and lavender that smells divine. I love having a sprig of fresh flowers around the house, or a bottle of fresh mint or lavender infused water on hand at any time.
