Woodland Wonders Blanket Finished & New Crochet Books

Woodland Wonders Blanket

Only two years after starting the Woodland Wonders blanket by Eleonora at Coastal Crochet (highly recommended for original and beautiful crochet patterns), I have finally finished it! And this is why I can never participate in a crochet-along, which in this case was supposed to last for six weeks. I don’t know how they do it. I do want to give a crochet-along a proper go at some point, but I’m not sure if I have the time for that kind of devotion to a project right now.

As I was nearing the end of my blanket, I did some shopping for new crochet pattern books and found two absolutely lovely ones: Kawaii Crochet Dolls (2026) by French crochet designer Elise Brocard with 10 anime-inspired dolls and over 30 cute character friends, and Kawaii Crochet Christmas (2025) by Melissa Bradley-Vatcher featuring 40 adorable and bright amigurumi patterns full of holiday cheer.

I’m going to start thinking about next projects and will probably start working on the cute dollies this summer and Christmas ornaments in the fall. This will also further fulfill one of my wish list items of crocheting my own Christmas ornaments, as I’ve now found a really nice variety of patterns for them, in addition to the Christmas Tree Bauble Ornaments and Mini Christmas Tree Bauble Ornaments (both turned cat toys) that I made in 2024.
